Ancient Vedic practices of Yagya and Homas not only help us mentally and spiritually but also offer other powerful benefits. According to a research study conducted by the Sri Sri Institute for Advanced Research, our skin hosts thousands of species of bacteria. One of the most effective ways to reduce these bacteria and maintain healthy skin is by participating in a Yagya or Homa.
The ash generated from a Homa acts as a potent antimicrobial. The study found that simply sitting in a Homa for a few hours or applying the Homa’s Vibhooti (ash) on your skin can significantly reduce the number of skin bacteria by 70 to 75%. For some individuals, this reduction can be as high as 90%. Therefore, when you participate in a Homa, not only are your mind and spirit rejuvenated, but your skin also benefits from its antimicrobial properties.
