What is so special about Total Lunar Eclipse (Khagras Changra Grahan) ?
After 104 year on 27th July 2018 a great phenomenon is happening. The day of largest full moon for the year 2018 and also celebrated as Guru Poornima in India. Along with full moon the same night we also have the largest lunar eclipse of the century which starts from 23:54 to 03:49 hours next day (also called as Khagras Chandra Grahan). It will be visible throughout India and across the globe except North America. This combination of multiple cosmic events of Guru Poornima (Largest Full Moon) and Khagras Grahan (Total Lunar Eclipse) happening together makes it very special for all mankind.

Makes it even more special for people who do some spiritual practices.

What to do during Total Lunar Eclipse (Khagras Changra Grahan) ?
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji says, it is the most auspicious time to do meditation. It is 100 times more powerful. The meditation you do for 100 days and the meditation you do during Eclipse or Full Moon is equal. So it is best to meditate, do some chanting or japa during this time.

What to eat during Total Lunar Eclipse (Khagras Changra Grahan) ?
It is recommended to do fast (upvaas) durning Grahan(Eclipse). Or it is suggested to have your meals before 12.30 pm on 27th July and those who can not stay empty stomach for long can have some food by 5.30pm (not recommended to eat anything after 5:30pm). Don’t cook or eat anything during eclipse time.

Before the Eclipse begins it is recommended to have a bath and keep light stomach (not to eat anything after 5.30pm) as the transitional effects of Lunar Eclipse will start affectiong the planet. During the time of Lunar Eclipse it is best to meditate or do some chants or japa.
After the longest Total Lunar Eclipse, to nullify its negative effects and enhance the auspicious impact of Khagras Chandra Grahan, It is recommended to participate in Grahan Shanti Homa which will happen the next morning (28th July - 7:00am IST onwards)
