Swami Purnachaitanya Ji

Ever since he was a child, Swami Purnachaitanya Ji had been sensitive to the suffering of other people and also animals. Whenever he witnessed someone struggling or in pain, he would be keen to help in any way possible.

His remarkable journey began over 15 years ago when he expressed his desire to be of maximum service to the world, to the great humanitarian and spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji. Swami Purnachaitanya Ji then moved to India after graduating to follow his Master, which amplified his spiritual abilities.

He started conducting training activities and overseeing various service projects for The Art of Living, including a vast array of programs, such as rural development, prisoner rehabilitation, and educational initiatives. During this time he also traveled extensively to share valuable knowledge for a happier and healthier lifestyle, even in the remotest places. These experiences turned out to be a fertile training ground for his path to becoming a monk; living a simple life and of little needs.

To acknowledge his high state of consciousness and commitment to dedicating his life to serving others, he received the title of Swami, or monk, at the young age of 27. The word Swami means "one who is established in the Self" and Purnachaitanya, the name given by his Master, means "he whose consciousness has fully blossomed.”

Since then Swami Purnachaitanya Ji has traveled extensively across Asia, Africa and Europe, conducting programs for The Art of Living in over 30 countries, for audiences as varied as heads of state, celebrities, prison inmates, corporate executives, and humble villagers. Through his talks, programs, mantras and podcasts he has already made a positive change in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the world. His first book, Looking Inward, which he wrote during the Covid pandemic lockdown, has become a practical guide to meditation and finding inner peace and calm for many across the world. It became an international bestseller and has already been translated into more than 10 languages.

Through years of study and practice, Swami Purnachaitanya Ji has become a unique bridge between the East and West. Today, he continues his journey as a Dutch monk, living a life of simplicity and devotion, connecting ancient Vedic wisdom with the modern needs. Known for his kindness, humility and great sense of humour, he shares the teachings of his Master that are deeply rooted in ancient tradition, which touch and inspire people from all backgrounds. His sole purpose is to share the treasures he has discovered, to help people live a more happy and fulfilling life.
