The word \'Gau\' has four meanings: Jnaana (knowledge), Gaman (progress), Praapti (attainment), and Moksha (liberation). Gau Puja is performed to honor the sacred significance of the cow, symbolizing both spiritual and material well-being. It is believed to invoke the blessings of one\\\'s ancestors, foster harmony and unity within the family, and promote good health and overall prosperity.

During Pitru Paksha, performing Gau Puja and Gau Daan is considered especially auspicious. According to Hindu tradition, these sacred acts help express gratitude to one\'s ancestors, seek their blessings, and contribute to their spiritual peace, while bringing divine grace, prosperity, and well-being to the family.
