Seva Description
The festival of navratri is celebrated with prayers and gaiety in the beginning of the Ashwin autumn. The word Navratri literally means 9 nights in Sanskrit. During these 9 nights and 10 days 9 forms of shakti / Devi that is feminine aspect of divinity is worshipped in its various forms. Devi is a form of energy a manifestation of the divine itself.
Ganpati : the rituals begin begin with an offering to Sri Ganesha the Lord of auspiciousness Ganpati Homa is symbolic of removing the obstacles before initiating any new venture.

In brief the nine nights are dedicated to the three main goddesses and Ganpati Homa is a very auspicious beginning. Then Navagraha homa and vast homa is performed.
