No Vedic ceremony is complete without reciting Purusha Suktam. Purusha Sukta Homa is dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu. Lord Maha Vishnu himself bestowed knowledge of this homa on Sanatkumara, who in turn instructed this to sage Bodhayana. It is stated in the Suta Samhita: Putrapradam Aputraanaam Jayadam Jayakaaminaam Bhuktidam Bhuktikaamaanaam Mokshadam Moksha Kaaminaam This means that Those who wish progeny, success in all undertakings, worldly enjoyments and mukti shall get it by performing this homa.
