Sadhvi Shubhakari
Sadhvi Shubhakari is a direct disciple of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and a Faculty at The Art Of Living. She conducts various Yoga, Meditation, Empowerment and Leadership programs of The Art of Living.
Sadhvi Shubhakari was born and brought up in Udupi in a very traditionally cultured Brahmin Family. From a young age she felt a calling to dedicate her life for something bigger. Daily evening Bhajans and celebrating festivals in traditional ways were an important part of Spiritual and cultural values of her upbringing.
From an early age Sadhvi Shubhakari showed great devotion and interest in Pujas, Bhajans. From school days, Sadhvi Shubhakari had influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and His love for the Nation. Her search continued for someone who could teach her more about the subtler aspects of life.
She completed B.E.(E&C) from NMAMIT, Nitte and served in IT industry for 13 years with sincere yearning to find a Guru and serve.
In the year May 2006 got an opportunity to attend The Art of Living Sudarshana Kriya Program, Sadhvi Shubhakari knew that she had found the spiritual Guru she had been looking for. She had found a real living Master.
Sadhvi Shubhakari attended some of their main programs and courses, the practical wisdom that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has made available through these programs. From the day one Sadhvi Shubhakari was involved in service activities of The Art of Living after the completion of the basic program.
She realized that serving and working for the benefit of others, and society at large, was much more fulfilling than anything else. She quit her job and started serving The Art of Living as Full Time Volunteer at the Art of Living International Center, Bengaluru. She also started her training to become a teacher of the Art of Living yoga and meditation programs.
After serving there for a few years, she started traveling extensively to organize and conduct public programs of the Art of Living, as well as yoga and meditation programs, and initiate various humanitarian service projects of the NGO.
Since then Sadhvi Shubhakari has been traveling continuously and extensively in many districts across Karnataka conducting various yoga and meditation programs.
Sadhvi Shubhakari has been conducting programs and teaching yoga, pranayama and meditation to people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, from slums to corporate executives, from village youth to urban youth. People who came across have experienced profound transformation and experienced healing on various levels.
As they say, experience is the best teacher. For Sadhvi Shubhakari, the experience of interacting with people from so many different walks of life, cultural backgrounds and religions, spreading Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s message of a stress-free, violence-free society where people celebrate diversity, rather than that being the cause of so much conflict, has been full of learning, joy, commitment, service and dedication to a cause. “Whatever we do in life, if you really look into it, we basically do to become happy, contented, fulfilled. I have found this fulfillment in my life, and now I just want to share it with as many people as possible!”
